Hey everyone, Adept dropped an open source image-text model, Pytorch announces on-device AI, and the Prompt Engineer Conference recordings are all available on YouTube.
But first, one of our members spoke on an AI panel last week.
David Speaks on Human-AI Collaboration at Go Remote Summit

David Youngblood, one of our founding members, spoke on a panel covering Human AI-Collaboration and the Democratization of Generative AI last week.
The recording is here, feel free to check it out if you have some time.
Adept Releases Open-Source Multimodal Model
Adept released Fuyu-8B, a streamlined version of their multimodal AI model, which is now available on HuggingFace. Think of this as the Mistral7B of image-text models.

Fuyu-8B excels in tasks like visual question-answering and natural-image-captioning. Performance evaluations show that Fuyu-8B outperforms several competitors, even with fewer parameters.

Although there are amazing use cases for this tool, their licensing terms state that you cannot use Fuyu-8B commercially.
PyTorch Ignites On-Device AI with ExecuTorch

PyTorch announced ExecuTorch, which marks a significant stride towards enhancing on-device inference across mobile and edge devices, with backing from Arm, Apple, & Qualcomm Innovation Center.
ExecuTorch addresses the existing fragmentation in the on-device AI ecosystem by offering a platform that facilitates effortless third-party integration, which accelerates machine learning models on specialized hardware.
ExecuTorch showcases a compact runtime and a lightweight operator registry, simplifying the execution of PyTorch programs on edge devices. Read more about it in their release.
Prompt Engineer Conference Is Up
Last week’s Prompt Engineer Conference is available on YouTube, members who watched gave great feedback on Slack.
One of the favorites, mentioned last week, was Eric Elliott’s video showing how prompting with psuedocodes improve LLM performance.
We shared IBM’s white paper about psuedocodes last week, but you’ll likely find Eric’s 24 minute video a little more engaging.
